Paros Veranda Views

Since our first year in this villa over looking Piso Aliki Beach I have been amazed at the variety of life that passes by our veranda.

This hub is my attempt to organize them into coherent photo journalism. Most photos are actually taken from our porch but some are in the village or nearby places.

Greek islanders are scientifically proven to live longer. Several reasons are given and I combine them into the phrase "integrated lifestyle". This hub illustrates a portion of that concept.

Evidently a careless smoker started a brush fire that high winds blew towards our village.

Once the water scooping airplanes arrived it was out quickly. Brush fires are a constant concern given the islands hilly terrain and long dry season.

We often notice people taking photos as they walk by the front of our house.

Not of us but of this church. We have also hosted artists who have painted it. The seasonal variations of light and color are endless.

This shows Venus over the church from our veranda.

Easter, of course, is the highlight of the Greek year. Both from a religious and feast aspect. We found it a little disconcerting to see these playful lambs disappear just before we were invited to the lamb barbecue.

It is late July. If you look close you barely see the neighboring island that is much nearer in the clear winter air.
